Job description:

Multiple Roles - An exciting opportunity for a Project Nurse to join the Acute Service Development Unit - Health Planning.

The Team:

Health Planning sits within System Management and Reform (SMR). SMR leads the planning, purchasing and monitoring of health services for the Department of Health, while also providing strategic policy and intergovernmental advice to ensure Tasmania’s health system meets its objectives.
 
Health Planning engages and works collaboratively across the whole of the Tasmanian health system to undertake service planning and support reform programs to improve service delivery and patient outcomes, facilitates clinical innovation and improvement through clinical and consumer engagement, and supports the development of models of care and service frameworks to reflect contemporary practice.

The Role:

As a member of the Health Planning Unit, the Project Nurse - Acute Service Development Unit will:
  • Lead and coordinate Health Planning Unit clinical improvement initiatives and projects that contribute to the strategic objective of THS.
  • Develop capacity for and utilise relevant clinical redesign tools to implement robust clinical improvement with a local, national and international focus to undertake initiatives and projects.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the current health care system and knowledge of national and international trends relating to clinical redesign and improvement initiatives.
  • High level analytical, conceptual, strategic, research and creative skills and the ability to apply these to clinical redesign within both a politically sensitive and organisational healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to apply project management methodology in managing a broad range of activities, including demonstrated experience in change management processes.

Details of appointment:

Multiple, fixed term, full time and part time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
