Job description:

Within a primary health framework and in accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care is responsible for high level clinical leadership in the development, provision and evaluation of service that ensures optimal patient/client/family and community outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care is responsible for evaluating and implementing changes to clinical practice, initiating research, education and quality improvement activities and will act as a leader, advisor and mentor for other nurses and clinicians to ensure high level clinical excellence in the practice area.

  • Assess, diagnose, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex wound conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Educate patients and families on wound prevention and self-management strategies
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development programs

Details of appointment:

We are offering a permanent, full-time Registered Nurse position (day worker), working up to 76 hours per fortnight. Flexible working hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Key Appointment Details

  • Salary: $144,146 per annum
  • Superannuation: 12% employer contribution (in addition to salary)
  • Agreement: In accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023

Additional Allowances (subject to eligibility)

  • Post-Graduate Allowance: Up to 7.5% depending on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
