The Team:

Youth Health North is a multidisciplinary service delivering dynamic, youth-friendly health care across northern Tasmania. Our work spans in-reach, outreach, clinic-based, school-based and community-based settings, offering variety, flexibility and the opportunity to meet young people where they are.

We support young people aged 12–24 to build capacity to navigate personal challenges and confidently engage with their own health and wellbeing. No two days look the same - one day might be facilitating a wellbeing group in a school, the next providing one-to-one support at a Community Health Centre or working alongside community partners to strengthen local youth services.

Our environment thrives on collaboration and innovation, with a strong focus on building trust and connection. As part of Youth Health North, you’ll be part of a team that works creatively and responsively to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives.

The Role:

As part of a small, supportive multidisciplinary team within Youth Health North, you will provide high-quality health and wellbeing services to young people aged 12–24. This includes delivering individual and group interventions, early intervention and counselling, brief interventions, health promotion, community development, and advocacy to support young people, particularly those who are disadvantaged or at risk in Northern Tasmania.

You will need

  • Contemporary knowledge of youth health issues and primary health care, including mental health, AOD, relationships and family attachment, harm minimisation, sexuality and homelessness.

  • Strong skills in assessment, counselling, group work, engagement and communication.

  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people’s strengths and potential.

This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in diverse, collaborative settings and is passionate about supporting young people to build capacity, resilience, and meaningful change in their lives.
