
The Team:
The Department of Health (DoH) works to support and improve the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians. Within DoH he Clinical Quality, Regulation and Accreditation (CQRA) Group consolidates the provision of specialist advice to the Secretary and portfolio Ministers on clinical governance, quality improvement, licencing, regulation and accreditation of health facilities, clinical practice and clinical care provision, credentialing of health professionals, approvals of new devices, technologies and interventions, health professional discipline-specific matters and workforce issues. The CQRA Group includes the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Chief Allied Health Advisor and the Chief Psychiatrist.
The Clinical Governance Section supports safety managers, clinicians and staff who are accountable for quality of care, continuous improvement in health outcomes, minimisation of risks, and fostering an environment of excellence in service delivery for patients in the Tasmanian public healthcare system. This section works closely with Regulation, Licencing and Compliance within CQRA.
The Role:
The Program Support Officer - Clinical Governance works within the Clinical Quality Regulation and Accreditation under the delegation of Executive Director Clinical Governance who oversees a unit that delivers a program of clinical governance systems including clinical networks, engagement, accreditation, quality improvement and credentialling to monitor high quality accountable and measurable healthcare.
You will need to:
- Support the effective planning, development, implementation, and review of Clinical Governance frameworks, processes and information systems within designated timelines.
- Engage with stakeholders and participate in meetings, to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the broader Clinical Governance team to enable effective workflows and processes that support clinical network engagement, accreditation, quality improvement and credentialling functions.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
