
The Team:
The Central Intake and Referral Services (CIRS) plays a vital role in Tasmania's mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) service landscape. As part of the Department of Health, CIRS is dedicated to streamlining access to appropriate mental health and AOD services, ensuring individuals receive the right care at the right time. Our team works collaboratively with public, private, and community sector providers, offering a point of entry to support service navigation. By integrating innovative referral pathways, including eReferral capabilities and the Medicare Mental Health Phone Service, CIRS enhances access, responsiveness, and continuity of care for all Tasmanians in need of mental health support.
The Role:
You will need:
- Ability to work genuinely and collaboratively with people with lived experience and their families and friends, including working confidently and effectively both individually and as a member of a multidisciplinary team within an environment subject to high work pressures and change.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, including a proven ability to undertake duties in a professional manner and with a high level of discretion, together with the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining a high level of stakeholder satisfaction in often complex situations.
- Knowledge and experience of office administration practices including competent keyboard skills and the ability to undertake administrative duties using office automation systems within a Microsoft Office environment and general knowledge of financial administration processes within the public sector.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 202
