The Role:
Manage the provision of a safe and efficient clinical pharmacy service to inpatients of the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) in accordance with practice frameworks established by the Statewide Pharmacy Manager Clinical Pharmacy.
- Coordinate the provision of clinical pharmacy services to hospital patients, aligning service provisions with relevant standards such as the Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) Standards of Practice for Clinical Pharmacy and taking an active approach in aligning clinical service delivery with the requirements of the hospital and the resources available.
- Implement service delivery frameworks such as the Australian Government’s Guiding Principles to achieve continuity in medication management (previously the Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council or APAC).
- Measure and analyse information on the effectiveness of service provisions and adjust priorities and implement initiatives, undertaking projects and initiatives directed at improving service efficiency, patient care and medication safety.
- Oversee the collection of performance indicators that are reported to pharmacy stakeholders including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and hospital-wide incident reporting.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for clinical pharmacy activities and oversee accreditation for processes relating to clinical pharmacy.
- Supervise team members and provide leadership and performance management

You will need
- Extensive experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services in a range of practice settings that align contemporary clinical pharmacy service models.
- Experience in leading clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting and demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and workplace guidelines applicable to the practice of pharmacy in a public hospital , together with experience in management of performance and supervision of teams.
- Track record of using initiative in the implementation of practices and projects directed towards good medication management principles

Pharmacy Careers in the Tasmanian Health Service
Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 28 March 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role (for all Pharmacist positions)
