Job description:

Work with us! An exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at St Helens.

The Team:

Located on the stunning East Coast of Tasmanian, St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania’s busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast-paced environment that delivers high quality patient centred care. Our focus is on providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

The Nurse Unit Manager works autonomously at the unit/ward level under the general direction of the Director of Nursing (St Helens), to provide direction and leadership to the nursing workforce and facility including - 

  • Acute care, Accident and Emergency and Community Services.
  • Lead and manage the coordination of overall patient care.
  • Work across a multi-disciplinary work environment.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join our team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $122,365 to $129,060 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type 

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Regional Allowances:

  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4%

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
