The Role:
We are recruiting three Practice Managers in Outpatient Services across Tasmania’s three health care regions - one each in the North, Northwest, and South. This role provides change with the support of the Outpatient Transformation Program, leadership and operational oversight of Outpatient Services Administration, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets both patient and clinical needs. It involves planning and evaluating outpatient operations, collaborating with stakeholders to manage clinic demand, and driving improvements in business systems and governance. The position also supports staff development, integrates telehealth and virtual care technologies, and ensures efficient revenue and billing processes, all while preparing for future growth and service expansion.
You will need:
- Demonstrated expertise in leading health service operations, including strategic planning, change management, and policy development within outpatient or similar healthcare settings.
- High-level interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including patients, clinicians, and external partners.
- Proven ability to manage data-driven service delivery, including performance monitoring, reporting, and the use of healthcare software systems to support operational efficiency.

Location:
This process will fill three positions across Tasmania—one in each region: North, North-West, and South. Location preference will be offered to successful applicants in order of merit.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, term full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, Commencing ASAP
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
