
The Team:
Home Care South is an accredited aged care provider within the Tasmanian Health Service providing home-based care and support services for older people and younger people with a disability. The service receives funding under the Commonwealth Home Support Program and the Tasmanian Home and Community Care Program. Our primary mission is to support frail older people and younger people with disabilities to remain safely and independently in their homes and communities, in line with the Charter of Aged Care Rights and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
The Role:
Based in Oatlands and covering the Southern Midlands, this dedicated team is part of Tasmania’s Community Health Services, delivering person-centred, in-home and community-based care. The team works collaboratively across disciplines to support individuals with complex needs, promoting independence, wellbeing, and recovery. With a strong focus on inclusivity and local engagement, they play a vital role in improving health outcomes in rural communities.
- Undertaking and carrying out basic care and support duties agreed to be of importance to the client’s wellbeing (e.g. personal care, home cleaning, social support, meal preparation and transport).
- Establishing effective relationships with clients and providing companionship whilst performing duties.
- Providing feedback about significant changes to the client’s circumstances to the Community Care Services Coordinator.
You will need to:
- Assist in providing a range of basic support services to meet the needs of the frail aged, younger people with disabilities and their families/carers.
- Promote and maintain client independence and enhance quality of life.
- Prevent inappropriate admission to long term residential care.

Details of appointment:
Two permanent part time, day worker positions, working 10 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $63,110 to $66.049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Home and Community)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
