Job description:

Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Service is seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to help ensure the efficient and effective provision of care, based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.

  • Multipurpose facility with 24 hour emergency care, 5 sub-acute beds, 9 residential aged care beds, community nursing, day centre as well as visiting medical specialists and allied health.

The Role:

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice:

  • Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework. 
  • Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day patient/resident care activities, including patient flow, discharge planning and care coordination. 

You will need:

  • Advanced clinical, assessment and problem solving skills.
  • A commitment leadership and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the complexities of working in a multipurpose facility including a working knowledge of the Aged Care Standards and contemporary issues in the care of the elderly.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to the team and a desire to advance your leadership skills.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Regional Allowances:

  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%

Eligibility:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
