
The Team:
The Internal Audit team operates within the Office of the Chief Risk Officer and functions as an independent, objective assurance and advisory unit. Guided by a commitment to adding value, Internal Audit supports the Department of Health in achieving its objectives by applying a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating governance, risk management, and internal controls, and by recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
The Role:
The Role: In accordance with Internal Audit’s policies and standards, the Audit Analyst is responsible for delivering client-focused reviews that enhance governance, risk management, and control systems across the Department of Health. The role also provides high-level secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee.
You will need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of systems of control and business processes, audit planning, and risk evaluation and audit methodologies, with previous experience in internal auditing or business improvement processes.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, data analysis, creative and research skills, with the ability to provide advice within the context of the political, social and organisational environment in which the organisation operates.
- Well-developed self-management and organisational skills, including the capacity to plan, coordinate and complete tasks within specified timeframes, and work with competing priorities, together with the proven ability to work individually and constructively as a member of a team.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
