Job description:

Exciting opportunity for a Social Work Assistant to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

An exciting opportunity exists within the Department of Health for a Social Work Assistant to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing high quality health and well-being services to young people aged 12-24. Youth Health South is part of the Department of Women’s and Children’s Services which is a supportive, cohesive, and highly functioning team that is motivated to meet the service needs of our community. The occupant will be in a multifaceted role that involves administrative and assistant duties, helping to support the day-to-day services of the Pulse Youth Health Service. 

The Role:

  • Assist the Youth Health Team to deliver services to clients and their families and provide administrative support to Pulse Youth Health South
  • Work as part of a well-supported team with a focus on person-centred, trauma informed care
  • Dynamic role that allows for growth and flexibility in both the administrative functioning and client assisting aspects of the position

You will need 

  1. Experience, knowledge skills and ability to work in a youth health service assisting clients under the direction of the multi-disciplinary team.
  2. Capacity to autonomously and proactively provide crucial administrative support and ensure professional standards of operation.
  3. Understanding of youth health, adolescent development and the issues impacting on young people’s health and wellbeing.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

  • Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of community and welfare resources

  • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
