
The Team:
This crucial position within the Minister's Office has been established to ensure seamless communication and coordination between the Minister's Office and the Department of Health. The role is vital for managing the flow of high-volume, high-quality information and documentation, ensuring that all communications meet specified standards, requirements, and timeframes.
This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of communications between the Minister's Office and the Department.
The Role:
Within the Minister’s Office, the Senior Departmental Liaison Officer - Minister for Health will:
- Manage and coordinate the flow of requests and information between the Office and the Department of Health (the Department) to ensure streamlined, proactive and collaborative communication with the Office of the Secretary
- Prepare and review documentation, define and clarify the scope to ensure clear and effective direction is provided and ensure all information meets the specified standards, requirements and timeframes.
- Provide administrative support to meetings between the Office and the Department, where requested, and undertake duties to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Ministerial Office.
You will need to:
- Act as the primary liaison between the Minister’s Office and the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Health.
- Draft and coordinate the preparation, review, and timely delivery of ministerial correspondence, briefings, and submissions.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with government protocols and expectations.
- Monitor and track the progress of departmental responses to ministerial requests and work with the OTS to ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide strategic advice on communication priorities and workflow management.
- Facilitate clear, informative and consistent messaging between stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve communication bottlenecks or issues proactively.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 April 2028.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
