Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:
Primary Purpose / Focus :
As a member of the Community Partners and Projects team, contribute to the growth and sustainability of Tasmania’s social and affordable housing system, and other identified community infrastructure projects, by providing high level contract development advice to the Manager, on projects and initiatives that improve Tasmania’s affordable housing and community infrastructure portfolio.
The core objectives of the job are to:
- Provide high level contract development and management advice in the development of new initiatives to grow and improve Tasmania’s community infrastructure portfolio, with a particular focus on social and affordable housing.
- Lead the development of new contractual arrangements with key stakeholders including the Office of the Crown Solicitor and external partners.
- Support the Manager and the Lead Contract Officer in the ongoing contract management and compliance of existing contracts and pursue opportunities to establish more effective arrangements.
Skills and experience :
Selection criteria includes:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development of complex legal arrangements relating to property transactions, including the development of agreements involving multiple stakeholders, government owned land, capital grant contributions and land title, security, and tenure considerations.
- Well-developed ability to undertake financial analysis, interpret, analyse, and understand information, legislation and policy directions (particularly as it relates to the social and affordable housing system)and decide on or recommend appropriate action with the capacity to exercise discretion and judgement in an environment of change and uncertainty.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contract implementation, and the management of contract performance, compliance principles and practices.

Significant experience in contract development, management, and compliance and/or tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, for example business administration or law.
