Job description:

The Central Intake and Referral Services (CIRS) and Medicare Mental Health Phone Service (MMH) plays a vital role in Tasmania's mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) service landscape. As part of the Department of Health, CIRS is dedicated to streamlining access to appropriate mental health and AOD services, ensuring individuals receive the right care at the right time. Our team works collaboratively with public, private, and community sector providers, offering a point of entry to support service navigation. By integrating innovative referral pathways, including eReferral capabilities, CIRS and MMH enhance access, responsiveness, and continuity of care for all Tasmanians in need of mental health support.

The Role:

Coordinate and support a range of projects and provide high level advice on project development and implementation, risk analysis, policy development, communication, and evaluation. 

Support, initiate and coordinate a range of communications and marketing activities which promote and inform both internal and external stakeholders regarding the Central Intake and Referral Service (CIRS) and Medicare Mental Health Phone Service. 

Contribute to the planning and development of CIRS priorities with a particular focus on communications coordination. 

You will need:

As the Projects and Communications Officer, you will work with a substantial degree of independence and autonomy in day-to-day activities, with general direction and supervision from the Service Manager. You will need:

*Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce quality documents in a variety of formats and presentation styles.

*Demonstrated planning, coordination, and project management skills.

*High level interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain and create networks. 

*High level research skills and the ability to evaluate information and contribute to the development of policies.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

Salary:

 $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
