The Team:
The role is based in the Strategic and Business Support (SBS) Team in Public Health Services (PHS). The team provides a range of support services across areas such as communications, digital systems, emergency management and incident response, policy and project support, and human resources and administration. SBS provides these services to all business units in PHS including Environmental Health, Communicable Disease Prevention Unit, Pharmaceutical Services Branch and Health Improvement and Partnerships. SBS team members also work closely with senior PHS leaders to advance strategic and priority work.
The Role:
The Senior Advisor Communications and Engagement is a senior role working closely with the Chief Executive - Public Health Services (PHS) and the PHS leadership team. The position requires advanced knowledge and experience of media and communications and the ability to lead activities which have a positive effect on organisational outcomes and strategic objectives within and beyond the team.
You will need:
- High level strategic communications expertise developed through extensive experience, including the ability to develop, implement and evaluate communications strategies.
- High-level professional media relations experience with demonstrated experience in the provision of media advice and support on major public issues including constructive and successful liaison with media representatives.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including the capacity to produce high quality documents in a variety of communication formats for a range of target audiences.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
