Job description:

Exciting opportunity to join the Department of Health Tasmania’s ICT Project Teams, delivering digital transformation and driving meaningful change.

The Team:

Digital Health: The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program team is responsible for delivering the Digital Health Transformation Strategy, a 10-year program of work that aims to transform the state’s health system into a world-class, innovative and integrated system designed to empower consumers and enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies.

The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program, including the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, is essential for efficient delivery of frontline health services into the future. The program aims to significantly enhance healthcare for all people in Tasmania by creating a more connected and accessible health system, ensuring that all Tasmanians receive the care they need, in the right place, at the right time, ultimately improving health outcomes across the state.

The Role:

The Consultant – Business Analysis plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation by providing expert support in business analysis, change management, and testing. Collaborating across teams, this role delivers technology-driven solutions aligned with strategic health priorities.

By understanding front-line business activities and challenges, the Consultant identifies and implements technology solutions that meet business needs, deliver measurable benefits, and ensures successful project outcomes.

The role offers expert advice on process improvements, conducts detailed analysis, and delivers actionable recommendations. Working with vendors, business units, Health ICT, and other stakeholders, the Consultant supports business process reengineering and ensures project success.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated expertise in business analysis, with a strong ability to translate customer business needs into application and operational requirements.
  • Expertise in project management, together with high level skills and experience in the analysis and implementation of business process improvements and change management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with a proven ability to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
  • High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills.

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent, full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: 

$128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
