Job description:

Exciting opportunity for a Manager - Enterprise Systems to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

The Enterprise Systems Team within Health ICT, provide application and platform support across the corporate environment for the Department of Health, Tasmania.

The team, work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, with changing technology and strategic objectives.

The Role:

Manage the day to day operation of the Department of Health’s (DoH) Enterprise Systems (various platforms such as Citrix and SQL Server/IIS and non-clinical focussed applications), including developing, integrating, implementing, and evaluating complex business services with a focus on platform and application strategies.

• Assist management in overseeing the human and financial resources for the Enterprise Systems team.

• Provide high level specialist advice to clients, staff, management and other internal and external stakeholders and service providers, contributing to the overall strategic direction and management of DoH Enterprise Systems, in collaboration with senior management.

• Provide project management services, in the specialised field of Enterprise Systems, as required

You will need:

1. Demonstrated high-level specialised expertise, knowledge, and experience in the effective development, implementation, and management of complex Enterprise Systems within a large organisation, focusing on platforms and applications.

2. Demonstrated experience and capacity to provide specialised advice regarding complex Enterprise Systems operational issues and systems applications, together with the ability to recommend options and solutions in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences.

3. Highly developed research, investigative, conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to develop and make sound judgments about complex business services and improvement opportunities, including showing initiative and forward thinking in identifying client needs and developing strategies to support system issues, priorities and solutions, and the development and implementation of operational strategies, policies, and procedures.

4. Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written, together with negotiation, conflict resolution and consultancy skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with staff, management, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

5. Experience in undertaking complex projects, including analysing, and evaluating data/information, preparing documentation and reports and the ability to remain abreast on contemporary developments which may affect and/or improve the delivery of complex specialised programs.

6. Ability to work effectively as a member of the team, assist management in overseeing human and financial resources and support individual and team professional development opportunities.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

  • Relevant IT industry experience

  • Degree, or tertiary qualification, in a relevant discipline
