The Position:

In this position your role will be to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver secondary level mental health assessment and interventions for infants, children (0-12), and their families and caregivers, experiencing emerging complexity regarding emotional, social, relational, and behavioural functioning.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Allied Health Professional:

  • Undertakes the delivery of quality care to clients of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
  • Provides a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of CAMHS and their families or carers.
  • Promotes community awareness in relation to mental health and acts as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

About H2HK Tasmania:

H2HK Tas is an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for the 0–12-year age group and represents an important addition to a child and family mental health stepped care model in Tasmania.

This early intervention service enables families to access a range of evidence based individual and group interventions and supports for mild to moderate emotional, behavioural, social, relational, and developmental challenges.

The Head to Health Kids Tas service works with families, and universal, secondary, and tertiary service providers, to provide integrated and holistic care. The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is a key co-service partner.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 - $126,703 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current Working with Children Registration

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
  • Current Driver’s Licence
