Job description:

The Director of Education leads and directs Ambulance Tasmania Education, Professional Development and Clinical Support staff and resources to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical practice support, education, and training systems for various roles across the organisation, maintaining a highly skilled and adaptable workforce capable of delivering high quality safe care to consumers.

The Role:

The position is a senior leader reporting to the Executive Director, Clinical Services. This position is required to cultivate a culture of continuous learning in Ambulance enhancing the capability of all staff in the performance of their role ensuring high standards of clinical quality and patient safety. The position is responsible for ensuring that education systems are aligned with the strategies, policies and priorities of the organisation. 

The Director of Education is responsible for ensuring Ambulance Tasmania develops and maintains capacity to meet its workforce requirements through the development of bespoke education programs. The Director of Education is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of post entry level qualification educational and credentialing systems that enable staff to maintain high standards of performance.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $178,112 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia

  • Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience and an additional qualification in management or equivalent.

  • Current Driver’s Licence

    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Qualification and/or experience in Project Management

  • Post graduate qualification in education

  • Experience in strategic health roles within large complex organisations.

  • Relevant experience working in areas of education, knowledge translation, innovation and research
