The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the planning, provision and evaluation of critical and acute Social Work Services as allocated by the clinical and discipline leads LGH Social work services.
This senior role is responsible for practicing in ways that fit with our hospital CARE values and demonstrating excellence in contemporary practice with patients as well as colleagues across all disciplines. Developing and maintaining health supportive working relationships with our patients, their families of choice as well as their carers is a key part of the role. It is also necessary to have the skills required to develop and maintain healthy working relationships with our stakeholders from emergency and community services (ie: police, child protection, sexual assault service providers, domestic violence service providers, NDIS and other support services etc ).
We are looking for someone who can remain calm in a crisis, who works to stay grounded and focused, and who is committed to engaging in clinical reasoning and reflective practice with others from social work and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 28 April 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
