
The Team:
The Aged Care Reform Unit works at a statewide level to support the care and services delivered by the Tasmanian Health Service to older Tasmanians. The Unit works strategically in supporting operational areas to improve the interface between the Tasmanian Health Service and the aged care sector.
The Role:
This role will support the implementation of Commonwealth Funded Strengthening Medicare initiative's for long stay older patients by:
- avoiding hospital presentation and admission;
- where hospital admission is necessary, reducing the length of the in-hospital stay;
- supporting earlier discharge; and
- improving the transition out of hospital to other appropriate care.
You will need:
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in project management and delivery, together with organizational skills and the ability to plan, coordinate, and be responsible for several concurrent project activities while working in an environment subject to strict timeframes and organisational change.
- High-level strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills, including the ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and effectively communicate and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation in various communication formats for a range of target audiences, including demonstrated presentation skills.
- Proven capacity to effectively model agile, flexible, and innovative work practices to influence and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team, to foster a productive work ethic and positive workplace culture.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible till June 2028
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
