The Role:
The Clinical Lead - Clinical Nurse Consultant works with a significant degree of autonomy, with broad direction and supervision provided by the relevant Department Manager. The occupant is expected to autonomously provide significant professional input and high-level judgment to solve novel, complex and critical systems and human issues
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead works with operational and clinical accountability to the Team Leader, under the broad direction of, and in collaboration with, the Team Leader, the occupant is accountable for the optimal operation of designated clinical functions within a community mental health team in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and the associated model of care
You will need:
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively undertake a coordination/leadership role within a multidisciplinary community setting, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, and a capacity to contribute towards the introduction of the model of care within a community setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary community mental health team, with the ability to assist the Team Leader in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years postgraduate clinical experience in the context of a community mental health team
