Job description:

Work in this vital patient facing role, providing clinical support to the Refugee and Humanitarian Arrival Clinic at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

The Team:

The Multicultural Health Social Worker is part of large and dynamic team of Social Workers, working across the Royal Hobart Hospital including, sub-acute and community settings. The team aims to promote equity of access to health services and social justice for our clients/patients, with respect for human dignity and worth.  The Social Workers aim is to deliver person centred approach to improve the health outcomes of the Tasmanian community.  

The Role:

Develop, provide, and evaluate culturally safe Social Work Services for inpatients and outpatients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. 

You will need 

  • Work across a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Contribute to culturally safe processes and quality improvement within the health service
  • Work across both inpatient and outpatient services.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 December 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: 

$110,425 to $126,703 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances: 

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Possession of, or commitment to acquire, Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Accredited Social Worker status
  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • May be required to work at both on and off-site facilities of Royal Hobart Hospital
