
The Team:
The Nursing and Midwifery education team, Hospitals South forms part of the larger professional service for nursing and midwifery. This role provides the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated nursing and midwifery education team, which supports developing your skills and knowledge in a professional education capacity.
The Role:
This role forms part of the broader Nursing and Midwifery education service for Hospitals South. This role is expected to contribute to the education, learning and development outcomes of the nursing workforce and will hold the operational work portfolio of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (based at the repatriation campus of Hospitals South). The role will work in close collaboration with the operational service areas to develop education and learning pathways.
You will need:
- Demonstrated high level knowledge, skills and clinical expertise and the ability to lead nursing practice through the principles of Practice Development.
- Ability to apply facilitation skills, learning and evaluation strategies in the clinical context, to further the development of a person-centred culture including the implementation and evaluation of professional development, education and training activities.
- Sound knowledge of contemporary education, health and professional development issues and their impact on the knowledge and skill requirements of the nursing workforce.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
