Job description:

As part of the Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO), the Policy, Compliance and Risk (PCR) Manager is responsible for the Departmental policy function and strategy that reduces risks and ensures compliance with legislative, regulatory and other requirements, including professional and ethical standards and Departmental policies.

The Role

As part of the Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO), the Policy, Compliance and Risk (PCR) Manager is responsible for the Departmental policy function and strategy that reduces risks and ensures compliance with legislative, regulatory and other requirements, including professional and ethical standards and Departmental policies.

Reporting directly to the Director, Policy, Risk and Compliance, the Manager PCR provides high-level strategic advice on policy and compliance matters, operating within the broader OCRO.

As a senior member of the Office of the Chief Risk Officer, lead and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to deliver accurate, reliable and targeted business outcomes that meet a range of national standards, requirements and targeted business outcomes focusing on learning and statewide system improvement.

Position Features:

A senior management and specialist advisory position plays a critical role in ensuring the Department effectively manages policy and associated risks, and complies with legislative, regulatory and other requirements, including professional standards and Departmental policies.

The Office of the Chief Risk Officer:

The Chief Risk Officer is responsible and accountable for the management of risk governance across the Department of Health, including working collaboratively with other members of the Health Executive to ensure an accurate risk profile of the Department exists.

The Risk, Policy, Compliance & Systems Unit has been established within the Office of the Chief Risk Officer to drive and engage all staff in a strategic approach to risk, policy and compliance. The Unit is responsible for enterprise risk management, policy, compliance, and the management of the Safety Reporting and Learning System (SRLS), the Strategic Document Management System (SDMS) and Comply Online.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $139,470 - $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications or corporate and/or clinical experience in policy management, compliance and risk within a Health Services or equivalent environment, would be highly regarded.

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
