The Outpatient Transformation Program has been established to implement improvements identified in the four-year strategy: Transforming Outpatient Services 2022-2026. The strategies aim to ensure that Tasmanians receive best practice and contemporary outpatient services within clinically appropriate time frames, regardless of where they live.

Outpatient Central Services is a small, dynamic team that are supporting consistency, streamlining business processes and reducing delays for public outpatient services throughout Tasmania. Outpatient Central Services makes the best use of our people, processes and technology to deliver efficient and consumer centred outpatient administrative services.
- Outpatient Central Services will provide increased efficiencies using contemporary practice management and call centre principles to improve outpatient processes and enhance administrative workflows for outpatient administrative tasks including referral management, waitlist auditing, appointment confirmations and data cleansing activities.
The Role:
- Provide efficient administrative and clerical support to a unit/department/service, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and e-mail services.
- Undertake telephone and reception duties as required and ensure the prompt, sensitive and confidential handling of enquiries and routine matters.
- Maintain client records, both electronic and paper-based, and maintain and review an effective filing system, including archiving, that ensures the confidentiality and safe keeping of client files.
- Ensure an efficient flow of information to and from the unit/department/service, prepare basic correspondence and assist senior staff in preparing documents such as reports, policies and responses to requests for information.
You will need
- Demonstrated skills in and understanding of contemporary office administration practices, including the ability to provide confidential, high quality administrative support in a client focused environment.
- Sound knowledge of and experience in the use of a broad range of software packages and information systems, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases, and the ability to quickly become adept in the use of new systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills, appropriate to undertaking administrative and reception duties in a health service environment.
- Capacity to organise and prioritise duties and work effectively with minimum supervision in an environment subject to work pressures and change.
- Ability to exercise initiative, judgement and discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Details of appointment:
Multiple positions available.
Fixed term, full time, part time positions, day worker (not working weekends but working public holidays), working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
