Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre
- Flinders Island MPC is located on the remote Flinders island, situated off the north eastern corner of Tasmania, with its beautiful beaches and pristine environment.
- The Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre comprises nine aged care beds, five acute beds, an Outpatient and Emergency service, physiotherapy, x-ray, podiatry/footcare and visiting services.

The Role
- Prepare, cook and provide meals of the highest standard to patients, residents, any meal recipients in the community, visitors and staff.
- As part of the facility’s continuous quality and consumer safety program, support the Support Services Coordinator in ensuring work practices comply with Food Safe and infection control requirements, including monitoring work practices and the use and storage of food, perishable goods and other consumables.
You will need
- Knowledge and experience in the preparation and presentation of balanced meals for organisations of similar size to FIMPC. Experience in, or the ability to develop skills in the preparation of meals for people with particular dietary needs.
- Well developed organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide assistance and training within a team environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of stock control, including ordering and the appropriate storage of consumables.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant cleaning procedures, including infection control and the use of cleaning chemicals.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of quality improvement with a passion for enhancing client satisfaction applicable to a health service environment.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of workplace safety and workplace diversity principles.

Details of appointment:
Permanent part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from 10 February 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $59,930 to $61,367 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
