The Role:
We are seeking a motivated Driver/Maintenance Officer to join our team in providing an efficient and safe service working across the West Coast District Hospital.
The successful Driver/Maintenance Officer will:
- Provide an efficient and safe patient and clients transport, take down dirty linen to launder, pick up pharmaceutical items and local regional courier service for the West Coast District Hospital site.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs and alterations to equipment, fixtures and fittings that are non-trade for the West Coast District Hospital site.
- Perform weekly and monthly maintenance as per Food Safety Program in West Coast District Hospital’s Kitchen.
- Distribute site supplies as received.
You will need:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the execution of general non-trade maintenance, together with an understanding of infection control and Work, Health & Safety standards, and codes of practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the execution of safe and efficient patient transport, and local and regional courier services.
- Knowledge of the principals involved in manual handling and the correct use and care of equipment, vehicles, and tools.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $62,486 to $65,119 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%
