The Team:
Orthopaedic Clinic is located within the Launceston General hospital. The orthopaedic clinic is a dynamic environment providing orthopaedic outpatient care. The orthopaedic clinic team comprising of doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners and cast technicians to deliver care via a variety of models of care. Access to orthopaedic clinic is via referral from a variety of sources: Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centres, General Practitioners, LGH wards and other specialties.
The Role:
Provide efficient plaster casting service at the Launceston General Hospital that ensures safe patient care and optimal patient outcomes, under the supervision of an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
It is preferrable that the successful applicant have:
- Demonstrated skills in application and removal of various casting and splinting materials.
- Sound knowledge of, and understanding of skeletal anatomy to interpret x-rays, pre and post cast application.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications skills, appropriate to supporting patient care.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 16 hours per fortnight, commencing from 4 May 2025 until 3 May 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 o $94,263 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
