Allied Health Assistant

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian? Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don’t sit in traffic for an hour. You’re decompressing with a wander through our beautiful city, on putting on your boots and telling it to a mountain, within minutes.

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Allied Health Assistants working with our Allied Health Team and closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team.

This important role will see you working within the Stroke Unit at the Launceston General Hospital.  As an Allied Health Assistant in this team, you will need the skills to support the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to provide patient centred care, and help clients reach their goals by delivering and supporting therapy programs.  And we’ll be committed to seeing you thrive. We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our team.

As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals. Allied Health Assistant, Bianca Debden, has worked in a similar role within the department.  They would be most happy to hear from you to answer questions about how they find working in our health service and team: bianca.debden@ths.tas.gov.au
