Job description:

Coordinate and facilitate the learning and teaching of undergraduate nursing, paramedics and allied health students within a designated rural health environment.

The Team:

St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania’s busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast-paced environment that delivers high quality patient centred care. Our focus is on providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the learning and teaching of undergraduate nursing, paramedics and allied health students within a designated rural health environment.
  • Be responsible for providing learning and teaching and social network support.
  • Coordinate the overall professional experience placements within health care environments and provide direct and indirect support, to undergraduate nursing, paramedics and allied health students and their supervisors/preceptors.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 8 hours per fortnight, commencing from 2 January 2025 until 31 December 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106, 570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
