Job description:

As a senior member of the Quality and Patient Safety team, the Senior Patient Safety Advisor will enhance the successful positioning of the North West Quality and Safety Service by providing quality, accountable and measurable healthcare.

The Team:

The Quality & Patient Safety team supports the Tasmanian Health Service, Hospitals and Primary Care North West with the delivery of quality patient care. The team has diverse and interesting responsibilities, such as; quality improvement and accreditation, patient safety, consumer feedback and engagement. Our team works closely with all departments, clinicians and senior staff.  

The Role:

As a member of the THS North West Quality & Patient Safety team, the senior safety advisor you will have a unique opportunity to work closely with consumers and the multidisciplinary team across the region.

We are seeking someone who has strong interpersonal skills and who has experience with developing effective rapport and maintain effective communication with consumers from varied backgrounds and experiences.      

As a senior member of the Quality and Patient Safety team, the Senior Patient Safety Advisor will enhance the successful positioning of the North West Quality and Safety Service by providing quality, accountable and measurable healthcare. 

You will need:

  • Ensuring the principles of continuous quality improvement are applied in the delivery of the services within the Patient Safety Service.
  • Providing considerate, focused and timely consumer feedback. 
  • Promoting and ensuring a proactive, integrated, innovative and multi-disciplinary approach to continual improvement, which includes the active engagement of consumers in the development and implementation of quality improvement projects.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to  45.6hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 January 2025 until 16 May 2025. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
