The Occupational Therapy Service includes over 90 team members consisting of occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenter, and administration officers. We work across acute, sub-acute and community settings, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, the largest teaching Hospital in Tasmania. The Role:
As a Deputy Manager - Occupational Therapy, you will work closely with the Discipline Lead and leadership team to support the Occupational Therapy Service in delivering high quality, evidence-based services, in alignment with the Department of Health CARE Values and strategic priorities. You will be responsible for the management and development of staff working within the Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Team, across sub-acute and community sites.
You will need:
- Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist in Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management and / or Transition Care Programs.
- A proven ability to lead, engage others and drive change.
- A passion for staff well-being and development.

Details of appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible, for a period of 12 months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$135,002 to $138,296per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowance is available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Post-graduate studies in occupational therapy, public health, or health services leadership or management or other related area
