The Pool Enrolled Nurse:
- Nurses within the LGH Pool work across medical, surgical and specialty areas including paediatrics, neonatal nursery, maternity, ICU, ED and outpatient services. Support is provided to Pool Nurses by the Nursing Pool Leadership Team to assist them in developing their knowledge and skills in clinical areas. The Pool Leadership Team work closely with the ward Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators and nursing staff in clinical areas to orientate, educate and guide Pool staff.
- Pool nursing is a great way to gain experience in new areas and a valuable way for experienced nurses to progress their career.

- The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a 340-bed hospital and is the major referral hospital for the North and North West regions of the State. The hospital provides emergency and acute care, specialist services, inpatient and ambulatory care.

The Role:
- The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.

Details of Appointment
Multiple permanent full time and part time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $70,980 - $78,179 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
