Job description:

The Hospital Assistant acts as a member of a team and performs duties consistent with quality improvement guidelines to provide hospital aide services, general housekeeping, porterage and catering duties to patients within the relevant Unit.

The Role:

The Hospital Assistant acts as a member of a team and performs duties consistent with quality improvement guidelines to provide hospital aide services, general housekeeping, porterage and catering duties to patients within the relevant Unit.

  • Provide general housekeeping services to the relevant Unit.
  • Provide cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas in accordance with infection control guidelines.
  • Assist nursing staff in the transferring and positioning of patients by manual or mechanical means, in line with manual handling guidelines and legislation and other porterage services to patients as required.
  • Assist patients with aspects of daily living under the direct supervision of the nursing staff.
  • Provide catering services to patient and their family/carers for the relevant Unit and maintain safe food handling practices in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, shift worker (Set Rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, Commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary 

$60,666 to $63,222 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
