Job description:

Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the environment, including the cleaning of beds/trolleys in preparation for new patients, patient equipment and cupboards on a standard discharge, preparation for and participation in terminal cleans, frequent touch points, patient zone and general cleaning (including equipment) as per local cleaning schedules, in line with organisational policies and procedures.

The Role:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the environment, including the cleaning of beds/trolleys in preparation for new patients, patient equipment and cupboards on a standard discharge, preparation for and participation in terminal cleans, frequent touch points, patient zone and general cleaning (including equipment) as per local cleaning schedules, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Collect and deliver prescriptions, blood and blood products, pathology specimens and other items as required between ward areas and hospital departments, in accordance with appropriate standards.
  • Maintain stock levels in the preparation, treatment, and utility rooms, equipment trolleys, and the Stores and Imprest system in accordance with the management/rotation of sterile and non-sterile stock procedures.

The Team:

The North West Regional Hospital services the North-West and West Coast communities in Tasmania providing Acute in-patient services alongside Outpatient specialty clinics. The Surgical Ward has 32 beds, caring for people who are experiencing a range of conditions requiring inpatient surgical management. You can expect to become a valued part of the team, assisting in maintaining a suitable environment and adequate stock to care for our patients and participating in activities optimising patient flow.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $58,184 to $59,580 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2023.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
