Job description:

The Department of Health are seeking a motivated Senior Project Officer to join their Statewide Mental Health Service team.

The role:

  • Contribute to the delivery of Agency strategic priorities and the objectives and outcomes of the SMHS Safety and Quality Unit.
  • Utilise project management strategies to contribute to the formulation and delivery of designated projects, including identifying complex and challenging issues, and contributing to the development of solutions to deliver project activities and outcomes.
  • Undertake assigned project activities, ensuring they align with Agency policies, procedures, core business functions and relevant legislation, and contribute to the development of operational solutions, guidelines, and recommendations for improved service delivery outcomes.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain strong relationships with staff, management, and key internal and external stakeholders, to facilitate change and support the achievement of project outcomes for SMHS.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-level correspondence, reports and submissions for senior management, the Minister, Cabinet, and other stakeholders as required.

The Position is a statewide role with responsibilities across all of Mental Health Services

Details of Appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
