The Role:
Within a Primary Health Care Framework, Agency policies, legal requirements and professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Sexual Health will:
- Provide professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the provision of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of Sexual Health Services clients within the defined community practice area.
- Undertake a broad consultative role by initiating and maintaining a comprehensive network with community and support groups, professional associates and developing professional collaborative linkages with other health professionals across the acute and community sectors, working as part of the multidisciplinary community health team and in close collaboration with clients, General Practitioners (GP) and Specialists.
- Implement evidence-based practices through teaching, research, policy and protocol development and through direct example within the practice setting.

The Team:
Part of the Tasmanian Health Service, the Statewide Sexual Health Service works collaboratively to deliver quality sexual health care to the Tasmanian population statewide with clinics in Hobart (Clinic 60), Launceston (Clinic 34) and Devonport outreach (Clinic 23).
Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Services) Agreement 2023
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
