The Role

• Provide high level of technical support to podiatrists in the manufacture of foot orthoses.
• Maintenance and safe operation of orthotic manufacturing equipment and orthotic lab rooms.
• Maintaining stock levels and ordering of orthotic materials.
• Provide supervision, training, and education of staff in foot orthoses manufacture and appropriate use of equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication with podiatry staff, clients and a commitment to work as part of a team for the production of high-quality foot orthoses.

The Podiatry department in Hobart is ready to welcome you to its team. An opportunity is available for a Podiatry Technical Assistant to join the podiatry team and work with Podiatrists in manufacturing orthoses, footwear modifications and workshop maintenance. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 14.36 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $65,236 to $68,925 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Allowance 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Position Features

Podiatry South delivers inpatient and outpatient services to the Royal Hobart Hospital and 14 Community Health Centres in southern Tasmania, the occupant of this position will be based in Hobart.
