The role:
As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
- Carry out assessments, treatments and provide clinical care to individuals referred to the team in collaboration with other team members. This will include the application of a wide range of skills and interventions.
- Act as a medical and psychiatric resource for other team members.
- Seek appropriate clinical support and supervision from senior colleagues, the Statewide Specialty Director or Delegate.
- Promote and maintain close links with colleagues and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care. Liaise with other community service providers, especially GP’s.
- Participate in medical student teaching and in-service training of staff.

Northern Community Team, Older Persons Mental Health Service, Statewide Mental Health Services, Tasmania
- Older Persons’ MHS, providing for those with mental illness in the context of age-related frailty, mental illness and comorbid dementia, and BPSD.
- Is a multidisciplinary team
- Located in Launceston, providing service across Northern Tasmania
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $125,000 - $200,000 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Salaried Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
