Job description:

Department of Health have a permanent part time opportunity available for an Allied Health Professional to join the Adult Community Mental Health Services team in Burnie.

The role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Allied Health Professional will:

  • Undertake the delivery of quality recovery focussed services to clients of the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service based on best practice principles and within a recovery framework.  Service delivery is within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework, that includes those with lived experiences. 
  • Provide a specialist assessment and consumer lead treatment service to clients of Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service and their families or carers. 
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and develop and enhance relationships with other mental health service providers. Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

Details of Appointment

Permanent part time day worker position working 48 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,966  - $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association

  2. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable as determined by individual position requirements)

  3. Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role

  2. Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification  relevant to the role
