As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provides specialist nursing care and education to patients of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

The Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (522497d) vacancy.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services, the Clinical Nurse Specialist - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is an advanced role that provides specialist nursing care and education to patients and their families and clinical leadership to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Undertake the delivery of specialist services to clients of CAMHS based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge in all aspects of primary health care. Administers an advanced clinical practice framework for the management of clients with complex needs.
  • Within the multi-disciplinary team, develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate programs and activities to improve client outcomes.

The Role

  1. Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
  2. Develop, monitor and evaluate clinical outcome measures, manage complex clinical issues and make recommendations on matters relating to the areas of clinical specialty.
  3. Participate in the multi-disciplinary team review of current clients, including supporting staff in the development, monitoring and evaluation of clinical outcome measures.
  4. Establish effective, collaborative and professional relationships with clients, the health care team, and other stakeholders to optimise outcomes for patients and their families.
  5. Maintain clinical documentation ensuring appropriate records of assessments, interventions and specialised reports, and maintain NOCC and Occasions of Service data

The CAMHS Community Team works with children, young people under 18 years old and their families to deliver high level evidence based mental health treatment. We are a diverse multidisciplinary team with an excellent working culture with a strong emphasis on reflective supervision and ongoing professional development. Details of Appointment

Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
  2. Current Working with Children Registration

  2. Holds, or is working towards, postgraduate qualifications in mental health
