Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to facilitate and support the development of our Palliative Care Nursing team

The role:

The Clinical Nurse Educator - Palliative Care (CNE) operates as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering palliative care services to patients, their families, and carers across the respective region of Tasmania. The CNE is responsible for:

  • Facilitating and supporting the development of nursing team members by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programs in palliative care.
  • Providing professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people with a life limiting illness.
  • Contributing to learning and development programs for other health disciplines and volunteers.

Our SPCS NW team collaboratively manage the complex care of the palliative patient in all care settings. We offer a supportive and engaged team that is committed to continuing professional development to ensure that care is evidence based, and holistic. Our inclusive team deliver a reliable, resourceful and responsive consultative service for our patient's their carers and our colleagues.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 19 August 2024

Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

  2. Current Driver's Licence

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Holds or is working towards relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in specialised palliative care management with experience working in the community setting.

  2. Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent)

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  5. serious traffic offences

  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
