Job description:

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) works within a quality and safety framework that fosters the implementation of person centred care, evidence based knowledge, clinical reasoning and research.

The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is to facilitate and support the education and development of the nursing and midwifery workforce, including all sets of learners.

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) works within a quality and safety framework that fosters the implementation of person centred care, evidence based knowledge, clinical reasoning and research.

In recognition of the requirements of the different settings, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role may incorporate activities associated with transition programs, clinical practice placement programs as a component of pre and post-registration and enrolment courses and professional development programs.

The role:

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate nurse education programs and activities in the clinical setting, including core and mandatory programs, in collaboration with the leadership team, internal and external education providers, and coordinators as required.
  • Function as a member of the clinical leadership team within the clinical practice settings.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the strategic reform agenda of the organisation.
  • Support the leadership team in coordinating clinical practice placements for nursing/midwifery students, and nurses/midwives, and ensure educational requirements are met.
  • Maintain documentation of program activities in accordance with organisational policy and program requirements.

The team:

The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) are looking for a suitable candidate for our South Clinical Nurse Educator position based in Hobart.

CHaPS provide important health and wellbeing services to families across Tasmania with children aged 0-5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood service providers.

The CHaPS support families as they transition into parenthood, enhancing parental confidence and capacity, and providing information and services focused on building relationships between children and parents/care givers.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration
