The role:
- As directed by the Senior Tradesperson (Electrical), maintain, install, commission, test and ensure statutory compliance of health facility electrical equipment, including:
- L.V. supply systems.
- Control and other specialised systems.
- Emergency power and lighting systems.
- Other health facility general building services.
- All power reticulation equipment and plant together with associated control and switch gear.

The area/team:
The Engineering and Facilities team consist of multiple trade groups performing planned and reactive maintenance activities primarily to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The Electrical trades group consists of a Team leader, 4 qualified electricians and a trade assistant.
Regular on-call and works outside ordinary business hours are a requirement of the role. Ongoing training and professional development is encouraged and supported as appropriate to the role and the Team.
As a member of the Engineering and Facilities team, the occupant is responsible for the repair and installation of electrical trade related plant, equipment, services, and facilities within the departments area of responsibility.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
