Job description:

The Senior Radiographer operates under the direction of the BreastScreen Tasmania Chief Radiographer to ensure broad program objectives and philosophies are maintained.

The role:

  • Perform complex screening mammography procedures, using digital equipment, exercising professional judgment within the screening and assessment environment.
  • Take a leading role in the supervision and training of less experienced staff performing duties with the BreastScreen Australia program, ensuring that professional standards are maintained.
  • Assist in the design, review and updating of protocols and procedures for work practices within the BreastScreen accreditation and quality assurance framework, ensuring compliance with work practices, and supporting the concept of continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new techniques and advances in mammography and breast imaging and lead projects as assigned by the Chief Radiographer.
  • Participate in quality assurance requirements related activities and meetings.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 24 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

Salary: $106,966 to $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
  • Licensed to practice under Tasmanian Radiation Protection Act 2005 and the Radiation Protection Regulations 2016

  • Current Driver’s Licence
