Job description:

The Registrar/Senior Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of and provision of medical support to palliative clients in the community including within residential aged care facilities (RACFs) across the Northern region.

The Team:  

  • SPCS is a friendly and motivated multidisciplinary team that works under primary health & covers the whole of Northern Tasmania.
  • The team is located in the Allambi building in Howick Street, close to the Launceston General Hospital. 
  • The position is an accredited training position for the Clinical Foundation in Palliative Medicine and for advanced training in Palliative Medicine.  This position can be part of the Advanced Specialist Training for ACRRM trainees. 

The role:

  • The Registrar/Senior Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of and provision of medical support to palliative clients in the community including within residential aged care facilities (RACFs) across the Northern region.

Details of Appointment

Fixed Term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join the team until 30 June 2025

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:

Registrars

Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000 - $183,500 pro rata, per annum, + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  2.  
  3.  *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
