The role:

We are looking for an applicant who is Compassionate, Accountable, Respectful, and strives for Excellence (CARE) to join our progressive and dynamic team, provide strong & supportive leadership for Allied Health services, and work with a wide range of internal & external stakeholders across multiple sites.

The successful Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, direction, and governance for Allied Health Services across Hospitals North-West, including acute, sub-acute and primary health services.  This includes:

  • Leadership responsibility and accountability for Allied Health Services across Hospitals North-West including health service delivery, clinical governance, education and training and research activities.
  • Ensuring that key deliverables are achieved including those related to operational performance, clinical governance, and human, financial and physical resources.
  • Providing advice and recommendations to the Chief Executive, Hospitals North-West to remediate complex and significant operational issues.
  • Collaborating with other areas of the Department of Health (DoH) and the Tasmanian health system to deliver integrated services and improvements to health care delivery in accordance with Tasmanian Government policy and agreed strategy, including ensuring that the Tasmanian heath system operates as a single cohesive statewide service.
  • Complex and significant issues include but are not limited to health service delivery, clinical governance, workforce, education and training, research and/or professional practice issues.

The Region:

Hospitals North West supports the local community throughout the NW Region across multiple sites, the North West Regional Hospital at Burnie, the Mersey Community Hospital at Latrobe, the three District Hospitals based in King Island, Queenstown and Smithton, as well as service deliver in Community Health Centre around the region.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight available for commencement to be negotiated with the successful candidate

Salary:

$165,080 - $168,176 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Agreement No.2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
