The role:
We are seeking Associate Nurse Unit Managers to join our Medical Unit at the North West Regional Hospital. We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment.
In partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM):
- Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care based on the best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework
- Assists with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day to day patient care activities, including patient flow of all three areas of the Medical Unit
- Is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that champions person-centred care, respect, teamwork, and empathy
- The ideal ANUM will have at least 5 years of Acute Medical Nursing experience, however this is not essential

The Ward:
The Medical Unit at Northwest Regional Hospital consists of a 27 bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed Isolation/ General Medicine Unit and an 8 bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for short stay patients. We specialise in providing care to people living with complex medical conditions including acute stroke, palliative care and end of life nursing, sepsis, respiratory and cardiac conditions, and acute delirium. The Isolation area provides care for various transmission-based infections including COVID 19. The AMU provides care to short stay medical patients with length of stays 48-72hrs having rapid reviews, assessments, and planning.

Multiple permanent, full time and part time, shift-worker positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are ready to join our team

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 to $109,165 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

- Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
